San Juan Islands, Washington hotel rooms at the Independent

"Snug Harbor resort was amazing for a weekend gateway for our family of 3. We chose the two bedroom cabin, with a queen bed and 2 twin beds. The cabin was ready when we arrived. Check-in was quick and hassle free. The cabin was clean, with ample parking space nearby. The bed linen and bath linen smelled clean and they had even provided extra bath linen. They do have a coffee shop and a small grocery store to buy essentials. The cabins overlook the marina, where you can also do kayaking. The ambience was great 👍. The only con was that the resort is on the western side of the island, a 15 min drive from Friday Harbor ferry terminal and all the popular restaurants. Overall, a great experience for us. Definitely recommend."

"Booked this with the intent on using the bicycles and hot tub advertised; we arrived on the island not having a car, so wanted to use the bikes but were alerted that they ‘weren’t out of winter storage yet’ (this was the 1st week of April)—unfortunate as we then needed to rent 2 bikes at $140/day. The hot tub evidently was for the use of another unit. Other than those two debacles, the place was charming, attentive staff and the breakfasts were nice. Great location, everything in Friday Harbor was walkable."

"I cant speak to the food but i can say everyone was amazing. Room was comfy and view was amazing. 200% recommend a stay here. Firepits and drinks are so lovely in the evening. "

"We stayed in a deluxe suite, it was obviously recently done and looked immaculate, including linens and towels; the suite had 2 balconies with view over the bay. On the negative side there were no restaurants open in Rosario but Eastsound is a less than a 10 minute drive and there were several there. Very close to Moran Nationalpark, plenty of hiking and scenery; the Moran mansion however is closed."

"This place is class on every level…from the room cleanliness, to fresh baked cookies in the evening, to the delicious breakfast, to the informative host. But what sets it above all others is the evening’s piano event which should not be missed. We had a 3 night stay and we hope to return."
