“Parfait”

“The problem we had was the hotel did not receive our reservation from Expedia. The desk staff told me to book another room now and deal with Expedia to get our money back. I showed her my receipt and the confirmation. She still insisted on not having our reservation. So I decided to communicate via on line chat with Expedia and luckily within 10 minutes the hotel received the confirmation. I have never been in this situation in my life in a foreign country. “There was no envelope with my name on to collect keys. Had to phone up and resolve. The room was in a bad state. The bath/shower had a leak that flooded the floor. Adjacent neighbours were smoking which made the balcony unpleasant.”

“I really enjoyed this hotel- it had character and was very well maintained (and lovely when viewed from the street). I did not have a car and so did not have to deal with parking etc (which might be a challenge due to location in old town). Close to the beach, restaurants and other sights. Would stay here again in future. The breakfast was excellent if pricey (you can find breakfast elsewhere if needed). Only comment was that the bathtub was quite high to get into.”
