Cala Lodge
3.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (486)
"Being in our room here almost felt like being in an upscale cabin or treehouse! It was very quiet and peaceful. There were thunderstorms at night and I loved listening to them while lying in bed. The bathroom was extremely nice with good soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. There is a lovely trail at the back of the property. "

"Lovely little B&B with a warm and friendly, artsy vibe. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. Water heat/pressure was sometimes hit or miss (not a real issue, but just to level set expectations) and there was no A/C (as expedia said there would be)--but it's way up in the mountains and open windows cooled things fine! We loved the staff, the tasty breakfast, the beautiful bottles embedded in the walls spreading color everywhere, and the amazing patio! PLENTY nearby in terms of food, including a Soda...

"As a female traveller, I felt completely safe here and would definitely stay again if I'm ever back in Monteverde. Great place for a solo traveller with a communal kitchen to help keep down expenses of eating out. WiFi in all the rooms. Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful 😊 My only complaint would be the floors in my room hadn't been cleaned (but in fairness it's a 2 star hostel, not a 5 star hotel). Make sure you have some flip flops or slippers for the room and then its...

Cabinas El Pueblo - Hostel
2.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (74)
"Very friendly and accommodating host - Marleny and family. Clean and friendly place with much information about local tours, eating places, and organized transport to and from San Jose. Great kitchen facilities! and Marleny prepared us a delicious breakfast, for US$7. Comfortable rooms and very clean. The location is noisy on weekends, especially at night, with passing traffic on the main road."

"Great place to stay! Staff very knowledgeable of the area and willing to help. My room was very nice. Night winds were high so it was a bit loud. Nothing the hotel can change, just part of the area. Just something to be aware of in the area."
