โLovely and quiet location with comfortable, clean rooms, a good breakfast and with safe parking. The country house is just off the A21 within an easy drive from Hastings and St. Leonards. I would be happy to stay there again. โ
โThis was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops.
The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent.
Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy)
All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the areaโ

โStayed at Chequers Inn, Battle, for three nights and we were very happy with the Inn and its location. We had a very comfortable stay and the staff were friendly. Would stay again if I was in Battle. About equal distance from the railway station and the town centre.โ
โOur stay was excellent, room was decorated beautifully in a vintage eclectic style and very spotlessly clean. Great position, walking distance to town, old town and beach. Lovely food in pub and great 50's band. We would definitely stay here again snd highly recommend it. The perfect comfortable stay.โ
โThe staff were very polite nd friendly. The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed. There was a kettle with loads of tea, coffee, sugar and milk supplied. There was a shower in the bathroom . With very large towels which smelled lovely . Lots of shampoo, shower gel snd body lotion supplied. I will definitely be going back โ
โThe whole place is a lovely old 1900's building. Lots of memorabilia. We had a small room which was very clean and cosy. Food was excellent. Staff very attentive. Would recommend staying here.โ

Check in veloce, camera spaziosa e pulita. โ
โI only needed it for one night business. The host was friendly and the price was very reasonable considering it had its own ensuite. It's a little out if the centre but only 15mins walk from St Leonard train station. โ

โEscaping to the country has never been more fun and magical. The resident robin and all his many friends keep you in that chilled mindset.
The town of Rye was 10 mins by car and full of historical charm. It was even being used for filming while we visited.
We walked from Rye to Camber sands along the cycle path and there are frequent buses back. โ
