The staff went out of their way to accommodate our late arrival (thank you!) and to cater for my dietary requirements at breakfast. Charming and attentive service, lovely room. Only slight problem with one of the mattresses needing to be propped up with cushions as not level.

Fantastic stay

A lovely night in Sidmouth. Easy check in with warm and friendly staff. A beautiful room with a comfy bed, and a fantastic breakfast. Couldn’t wish for better

This is a fantastic property, made all the better by the staff who work hard and do a great job. It feels like a warm and friendly b&b more than a hotel, in a good way. The location is excellent, so close to sw coastal path, bus routes, cinema, beach and so much more. The room was exactly as described, very clean, tidy and exactly what I was looking for. Well done mount pleasant - fabulous!

Perfect Weekend Break

We had a lovely weekend break at Mount Pleasant Hotel. The hotel was situated in a quiet area only a few minutes walk from Sidmouth beach & shops. Our room was spotlessly clean & comfortable. The dining room & sitting room had views onto the pretty garden in which you could relax on the terrace with a glass of wine. The breakfast & evening meals were also delicious so we would recommend staying there for dinner. We were lucky to have glorious weather for our stay & were perfectly placed to explore the surrounding area. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the near future.

An excellent hotel that is worth more than 2 stars. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast outstanding. It is very near the coast and the older part of Sidmouth so Avoids parking in Sidmouth.

Look past the star rating its a great hotel.

The star rating of this hotel definately is incorrect and people should look past this as its a 4 star hotel, Staff are absolutely brilliant high standard of service, Breakfast was of really high standard with every detail covered and nothing was too much trouble, Lovely setting for breakfast with tables laid spotlessly with good cutlery, furniture is of good standard with no wear and tear showing, the only down side was the room was a little small but comfortable with everything present that you need, great location as well

A very good experience. Very conveniently located, the hotel was clean and well-equipped and the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate there one evening - food was good but we don't always want a 3-course set menu. Might have eaten there again if we could have chosen only one or two courses. One really minor gripe ... we appreciate having bedside lights but (in room 5) they were terribly bright!

First stay here for 2 nights B/B. Lovely hotel in a quiet road just 5 minutes from the sea close to shops. Clean and comfortable staff very friendly and breakfast had plenty of choice. Would recommend. Most likely will be staying here again ourselves.

Gorgeous old-fashioned charm

The hotel oodles loads of old-fashioned charm. The twin room we had was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast in particular was amazing with table service which made it so much more special. The young girl that served us was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious with lots on offer. It was difficult to choose whether to go for the normal full English, haddock or kippers. In the end, the full English won with a perfectly cooked poached egg. Gardens were stunning and we were lucky with the weather. We definitely recommend Mount Pleasant and would happily return.
