If it has recently rained please check to see if the slide is open. We had a bad storm the night before and they would not let anyone slide because the water was too high and fast.

The Art Loeb Trail and the Cold Mountain Spur Trail is my all time favorite hike in the Appalachian Mountains. Awesome 360 degree views of the Balsam Mountains from Cold Mountain are well worth the efforts.
