The Stanley Hotel

"The hotel itself if an icon, and that reputation isn't going anywhere anytime soon. But as a hotel that is seen as luxurious, I was surprised by the amount of trash around the common areas. If you're looking to dine, I'd recommend going off of the property. The steakhouse was overpriced and under seasoned. We went to the cascades for breakfast, only to be seated amongst multiple empty tables that looked like they had gone all night without being bussed. Again, overpriced and under seasoned food. Now those things will not keep us from coming back as it is such an incredible property with extensive history and a number of fun events going on year-round. But it seems like those things alone have given the opportunity to cut corners in other areas."

"This hotel was a dream , the Mountain View was lovely , the hot pool incredible, breakfast was the best out of all, convenient free shuttle to the villages , rooms were top designer and space , best hotel out of the 15 u stayed on this trip only downside is 50 dollar charge per night of parking …."

"It is a motel, so heard a little, people coming & going outside, (noisy workers next door), but the walls are great. **Never heard any other guests, otherwise. The door needs weather stripping, you could see outside-that would be so cold in the Winter. Nice office clerks, very friendly & helpful. Smallish room, (bare bones, not even any tissues), but a small kitchen w/ microwave & frig. are nice. Bed was super comfy, and nice crisp sheets."
