โIf you're a bit unsure about staying at a place for the first time you need have no worries about booking the Southgate B&B. Starting with the warm and friendly welcome from the hosts upon arrival everything was all you could wish for- from the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodation to the impressive breakfast in the morning.Would have no hesitation in booking again!โ
โReally lovely property. Cosy and welcoming. Beds were great. Lovely care package for us when we arrived.
Shower could do with renovation and the oven a clean (it wasn't horrendous) but we would happily book this place again โ
โGorgeous hotel in beautiful Yorkshire.
Our 3 day stay was wonderful. Large comfy rooms with huge bed. Modern bathroom with walk in shower. Garden was perfect to sit in, with a cosy summerhouse.
Breakfast was stunning - local produce, even down to the apple juice produced from their own orchard. Honey and jams all very local too, as were the ingredients of the cooked breakfasts.
Bar stocks local beers and spirits.
Andrew and Lucinda are perfect hosts.

โRebecca is the best! Whatever you want/need sheโs there! Had a problem with the bedside lamp - she fixed it, injured my knee, she fed me (not for free I hasten to add before scores of people want the same!). She cooked my breakfast and made sure I was made to feel VERY welcome. Sort of sorry to leave!โ
โWe'd had a bad experience with another hotel requiring us to move at short notice. The service at here was infinitely better. Comfy spacious rooms with everything you'd ask for. Staff were friendly and the food was very good. Breakfast was brilliant and parking availability couldnt be better. Very pleased we stayed here and thank you for having us.โ
