“This was my first time at the property. It was a lovely resort. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location of the hotel is great near attractions, bars, and ferries to St. John and Water Island. I'd highly recommend. ”

“The front desk staff on check in tried to charge us when we had bought a package through Expedia. She was not kind our compassionate nor did she foster any connection to us at check in. We alerted the front desk about fecal material in the pool and on the pool deck. The poop on the pool deck could be clearly seen from our hotel window and in spite of alerting the front desk staff both by phone and direct conversation at front desk it remained on pool deck until our check out. Our room did not...

“The owners are very helpful and super friendly. The courtyard garden is a great place to view birds and anoles. The view from the pool deck is beautiful.”

“Parking is very limited, some outlets did not work in room, hot tub did not heat, room size and layout was 5 star. Restaurant and staff were very pleasant. Very close to Red Hook (shoppong, Restaurants, grocery store, ferry terminal). ”

“The room was terrible , there wasn’t any water in the hotel and the roof was leaking.”

“Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. ”

“The view was amazing. The open air restaurant view was wonderful although I only had the included breakfast which was OK. I believe I stayed in the smallest room which I do not recommend unless aesthetics doesn't mean much to you. The room was very small, no place to relax except the bed and the shower/bathroom was awkward. Bring mosquito repellent.”

“The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! ”

“Overall loved the location and amenities. Staff was also great. Only issue in our room is it needs a bed/mattress replacement. I felt like I was laying on different levels of plywood. Caused some back discomfort. ”
