Short Stay

I always stay for a night when traveling through Surat before going or returning to Samui. I always stay at Journey: it is centrally located, relatively large room and clean; all I need for a brief 1 night stay.

Hostel outside Surat Thani city proper

We took a bus from outside the airport, pretty convinient, 100 bath per person. They let us off on the highway 200 m from the hostel. The hostel seemed pretty new, the staff friendly, spacious rooms, nice bed. Its nothing in the area, except a 7-11. We walked around 10 minutes before we found a local resto that seemed ok.Breakfast very very simplr. We stayed there one night, and we were picked up next morning,heading for Samui.

Godt hostel

Boede der en enkelt nat inden vi skulle videre til Koh Samui. Fungerede rigtig fint og personalet var særdeles behjælpelige mht arrangering af transport mv. Fint værelse hvor vi sov 5 personer.

Nice place next to food market

I stayed at journey the night before boarding a ferry to Koh Samui. It was a stylish room that had air-conditioning. Everything was clean, and there was a night market right across the street selling great food. I don’t know if they do that every night, but it was a lot of fun to walk around the food and shopping stalls. I got there via the phantip bus from the airport, which only cost 150 baht. I walked to the Seatran station next morning, which I don't recommend doing - pay for a taxi, it's a hot and tiring walk.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Journey Hostel. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They helped us organise ferry ride and and driver needs we had when we wanted to drive to the elephant farm. The only thing I would really mention is that the room didn’t have a window, but that was no bother to me. There is the occasional night market right across the street too (seems mostly weekend or Monday though) also the food carts outside on the Main Street were extremely friendly too. I’d definitely stay there again and couldn’t recommend it more.

Leuk en erg nieuw hostel.

Ik heb hier een private room voor 1 nacht geboekt. Super mooi en nieuwe kamer + badkamer. Het enige jammere is dat er geen raam was. De kamer is verder erg mooi. Bed is super chill. Personeel is vriendelijk. Gratis ontbijt was toast met jam en coffee, thee en een sapje. Surat Thani zelf is niet heel toeristisch gister alleen 1 toerist tegengekomen. Bus en boot naar koh tao vanuit hier geboekt koste: 750 baht.
