I've stayed here multiple and this is a solid hotel for its price ranking. The staff are generally nice, polite and helpful. The room is larger than most other hotels of the price segment, but the bathroom layout is funky to put it politely. There is a giant cement based bathroom but there is no sliding door or shower drapes for the bath tub/shower area. No matter how careful you are, you will get the place wet. Towel rack and hooks are on the side, opposite of the tub, so you will be walking while wet to get to it, which is very slippery. Everyday, I worry about slip and fall in the bathroom. Breakfast has been improved over previous stays. While the selections are limited, they do try to rotate the hot dishes every day, so you don't get bored. Though I think the selections are more suited for Asian taste. The location of the hotel can't be beat. It's a block away from MRT station and mainline bus stops, with a bus stop right in front of the hotel. If you want to save money with your airport transport, there are 3 different airport buses that are just 1 block north, 1 block south and 2 blocks southwest of the hotel. There are plenty of food and shopping options nearby. Cosmed across the street is by far one of the largest in the area. Sadly, the Carrefour grocery store nearby is closed for renovation as of 8/2026 with no reopening date.

If you don’t mind a room with no windows, Xinshe is the place for you. Big and clean rooms located in a good district. High CP value.

Value for money

Spacious room for 3. Overall experience was great and value for money. Even better if a hand soap dispenser is provided in the bathroom. No expectation of the free breakfast provided so no complaint at all.

Nearby MRT station that’s not far from Ximen and Taipei main. At first date, bathroom was not clean, there’s bubble on the floor when it’s wet.

Above average but missing advertised amenities

The room is of decent size but there are a lot of oddities here. They didn't even have luggage racks and there are not enough flat surfaces in the room to leave your luggage opened. Bathroom design is modern but there is nothing separating the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so it's nearly impossible to not get everything wet. There are many discrepancies to advertised amenities. I booked this hotel because it advertised as having a gym but the gym has not opened a long while due to unspecified "maintenance" . There is no nearby gym with a reasonable walk. I also called before booking and was told there are washer and dryer onsite, but they didn't have them. I ended up have lug my clothes to nearby laundromats, which was not a fun experience. Breakfast item is pedestrian and extremely limited and often runs out of items on weekends. When the good cook/chef is there, the dishes are well prepared but when he is not there and others step in, we end up having what amounts to bad home cooking. Breakfast vouchers are not all given to you at once, and you must get one voucher every day per day. The hotel has a lot of potentials but also a lot of weird quirks.
