Prepaid room was given away and we were downgraded
Very disappointing experience. We booked a two-night stay through Expedia and paid for the night before our arrival specifically so our room would be available Saturday morning.
When we arrived Saturday, the front desk told us our room had been given away because we had not called ahead to say we would be arriving late. However, there was no instruction in our Expedia reservation stating that we needed to call the resort to hold a prepaid room. We also received no phone call or email from the resort warning us that our room would be released.
It took about 30 minutes to find us another room, and despite paying for a king-size room, we were given a queen-size room because they said that was the only room available.
We asked to be reimbursed for the night we had already paid for but were unable to use, but the front desk said there was nothing they could do.
The lack of communication, the room downgrade, and the refusal to provide any resolution made this a very frustrating experience. I would not book this resort again.
