Teesside, England hotel rooms at the Independent

"Presently surprised by the hotel. Originally from the area and passed the property many times. Rooms were great, although a second room (occupied by another family member) was a little outdated. Very comfortable bed and a good-sized sofa bed too. Ample parking is available around the property; remember to input your number plate on the system. The meals were a little hit and miss. Breakfasts were good, although very limited - one morning there was no continental left due to a busier earlier sitting. The evening meals were reasonably priced, however my wife ordered Mac n Cheese, Sue reported that it was fantastic, but the garlic bread was very undercooked. Overall, however, it was a very enjoyable short stay."

" Arrived a little earlier than check in and didn’t expect room to be ready but did expect to be able to get a drink but bar closed….it was 2pm on a Saturday afternoon!!! Disappointing. Hotel in great location and breakfast was great."

"We stay here regularly whilst visiting family. I love it because everyone is very friendly, the beds are super comfy and there is a bath in the bathroom. It's walking distance into town even after a few drinks in the very reasonably priced bar! It's dog friendly too. Big carpark and surprisingly quiet after the bar closes. Usually football on the TV in the bar which keeps my husband happy (depending on play...) 😅 The Highfield is always our first choice when planning to come to Boro."

"The room was beautiful and clean, beds were very comfy and thoughtfully laid out for a family with 2 small children. Further, our little girl experienced some sickness during the evening and the beautiful lady on reception was so helpful and understanding bringing us new bedding and a jug of water. Will definitely stay again!"

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap. Situated on the village green, it is a perfect place to sit out in the warmer weather with great tea shops and restaurants close by. Would definitely stay again in the future."
