Second time in this hotel, no complaints whatsoever. For a very reasonable price you get a great location, great service and a room which has all the basics you need.
Would happily stay here again!
Nice hotel. Easily walkable right into the heart of Shibuya or to the quiet of Yoyogi Park. Convenience store right downstairs and nice restaurants all around. Not right by the metro but quick walk to a couple of different lines. Could do with a little update on the interior and I found the beds a little too soft. Good size rooms for Japan and good wifi.

Hotel DOES NOT handle luggage forwarding. They will receive your luggage but will not forward it for you. There is a lawson's right next door, but it's a much different experience handling it through there.
The hotel itself is old so you use physical keys that you have to hand to the staff every time you leave. I'm okay doing this with a ryokan, but it was quite annoying to have to do it here.
WiFi is not stable and drops out often.
Only a single water bottle given at checkin rather than 2 per room cleaning which I thought was an odd corner to cut.
The room itself is spacious and the location is decent.
Lovely service, great location, and I got switched to a bigger room when the fridge in my original room wasn't working. My second time there, and will definitely come again!
A great hotel for a decent price, in a quiet area but within walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya. Extremely friendly staff, and our rooms were way larger than what I've experienced elsewhere in Tokyo. Will definitely keep this one in mind the next time I'm visiting Tokyo!
A brief 10 minutes walk to nearby streets and train stations, room was a bit dusty but overall clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenience store directly next to hotel.

Excellent location where it’s in a quiet area and the busy shibuya area is just 15 minutes away by walking. A family mart is next door. The room is not small at all and is cleaned every day. Reception is 24 hours. There is Airconditioning and heater.

Clean and safe. Everything works. Smelled like cigarettes
Staff was very friendly. My issue was with my room. I booked a non-smoking room, but it was on a floor mixed with other rooms designated for smoking. This caused me to still experience a moderate amount of smoky scent from other hotel guests throughout my stay
I stayed for 5 nights and loved it. Great location. About a 5-10 minute walk from Shibuya crossing but far enough to not be kept awake at night by all of the noise. Staff did not speak much English but were very eager to help. When I arrived it had been raining so the lady began drying my suitcase with a towel. As I was leaving I bumped into one of the receptionists on the street who stopped me to say goodbye. The bed was incredibly comfy and the room cleaned every day. Absolute 10/10. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu!

It smelled something like sewage. Except that, it was good, especially the location for me.
The hotel is on the outskirts of Shibuya, enough so that it’s in a very quiet area, but also within walking distance of Shibuya Station, Yoyogi Station, and all the popular shopping areas.
There is a bus stop literally in front but I never used it. A Family Mart is next door and I stopped there every day after coming back from traveling around Tokyo.
My room was very simple, and that’s all I needed; a place to sleep, shower, store my things, and take a short rest.
I appreciated the hotel amenities available at the front desk-like a full skin care sample size kit, hair ties, cotton swabs/pads, and a variety of teas. In the room there will be shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush/small toothpaste, and a brush.
I brought very little clothes with me to avoid overpacking, and I had to do the laundry 3x during my 2 week stay. The laundromat was a little bit of a walk away but not bad.
The staff at the front desk are very nice. Every time you leave the hotel you drop the key off at the front desk and pick it up when you come back. The front desk is staffed 24-hours a day.
There were a couple of times that I wanted to sleep in and not have to worry about leaving the room for housekeeping so I just had to notify the front desk. A basket with clean towels, robe, trash liners, and toiletries will be left outside the door.
This is my 2nd trip to Japan; and I wouldn’t mind coming back to this hotel. It was a great location for the price
Pros - location is great, 10 min walk to heart of Shibjya, while still being quiet with minimal noise. Close to multiple train stations and a bus right out the door.
The single room is quite spacious and the rooms are very clean, even though the hotel is old. The room also has a small wardrobe, which I appreciated and found this rare in Japan. The bed is soft and comfy. The staff are lovely and friendly.
Cons - The hotel is very basic and does not have any facilities like other hotels I stayed in Japan. The bathroom and shower are quite high to step into and would be difficult for short people or anyone with physical limitations. The air-conditioning does not work properly. If you are someone who prefers a cool room, this is not the place for you. I could not stay here in warm weather. There is a bad smell as soon as you walk into the foyer of the hotel. They also do not have scales to weight luggage, which is very inconvenient. As a result, I've had to buy extra weight for luggage in case.
Depending on what is important to you, this could be a great option due to location alone. I have not stayed in Tokyo before, so I can't compare facilities to other similarly priced hotels.
I had the pleasure of staying at Tabist New Washington in Shibuya for a month, and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Tokyo. The friendliness of the staff made me feel so welcome.Their kindness and care transformed my stay into something special.
Every morning, I was greeted with cheerful smiles as I headed out for the day, every evening, they welcomed me back like an old friend.A meaningful part of my routine that I will never forget. Their willingness to help with anything I needed—whether it was providing guidance or just a friendly exchange—made every interaction with them a joy and important to me.
The staff here is a small, tight-knit group, and while language might have been a barrier at times, their appreciation and genuine care always shone through. They were the heart of my experience, and saying goodbye at the end of my stay was bittersweet.
The location was perfect for me. I wanted to be close to the energy of Shibuya and its rock music scene but have a respite from the hustle of Shibuya Scramble. This hotel struck the balance. It’s in an area with easy access to local shows, but it’s not overwhelming. Being near multiple transit stations—and even having a bus stop right out front that takes you to Shinjuku—was so convenient.
Thank you, Tabist, for making my dream trip to Tokyo so unforgettable. The memories of your warm greetings and exceptional hospitality will stay with me for a lifetime. I’m already looking forward to the day I can return!
