“We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. Just plan ahead if you’re staying on a Sunday as many restaurants were closed but we found a gem in Cinfaes - Sabores e...

“Friendly check-in staff - very helpful and courteous. unfortunately amenities let this down. Stayed for 2 nights (3 people) but we were only provided with 2 Dolce Gusto coffee pods for the entire duration and upon asking, were told that we would not be getting anymore. 2 sachets of sugar, no milk, tea etc. No iron in room so we asked for an iron and were told they did not have any.
