โI stayed at the royal hotel for 1 week and really enjoyed it. It's about 12 min walking distance from Coogee beach and is near many cafes and restaurants. It is also near bus lines that take you to the city. I'd recommend this place to sb who wants to spend a relaxed time by the beach. โHonestly for accommodation above a pub, Southend is amazing! The rooms are newly renovated, large and super comfortable with their own bathrooms. Staff are so accommodating and we had leak from balcony in our two rooms due to extreme weather and they moved us to new rooms straight away, provided us with free drinks and continually checked on us.
The food at the pub below is delicious and the vibe is very warm and friendly!
