โThis place is amazing! I came for only one night but will definitely be back for an extended stay as the rooms provide many more amenities than a traditional hotel room. The property is extremely clean, quiet and so retro cool maintaining a lot of the original 1950โs vintage feel of the original motel. โ
โThe stay here was such a treat. The details that made it feel luxurious were very well appointed. In an area that has had a boom of modern hotels and restaurants The Danforth reminds me of the class and history Portsmouth is built on. Have already recommended the Danforth to friends. โ
โWe loved our stay! From the staff to the decor, we were impressed with Hotel Thaxter. It is so charming and a wonderful alternative to a more commercial hotel. It felt like we were staying in someoneโs home, without paying the fees of a vacation rental. โ
โCute hotel in the middle of Portsmouth in a converted large old house. Very cute hotel and would absolutely stay there again. Loved the breakfast.โ
โGreat location. Very good condition. Shower control has flow control too. I hate hotels where you can't control the flow. We did tell the hotel. It would be nice if they had more towel racks or hooks in the bathroom to hang the bathtubs. Also, if you don't want to pay the valet service you can just drive your car yourself to the Foundry garage 3 blocks away. Breakfast was good. We did give feedback that we wish there were were real cutlery and ceramic plates instead of plastic, plastic and...
โThe service from all staff was cordial and attentive. Rooms were clean and the heated pool was opened for long hours. This location makes it easy to hop on different highways with easy access. โ
