Overall a great stay. Rooms spacious and have a great view over the garden, pool and sea view. Staff were really friendly and aside from check in, all incredibly helpful and pleasant. Good breakfast buffet. Great pool options, good gym and even has a par 3 pitch and putt which was a bit of fun. Special shoutout to Karim and Muru. Only downside was the check in - 3pm check in and they still could not get a room ready or allocated to us until 4.30pm (we had to leave 5pm for a booking that they were aware of). We were simply told sorry and had to constantly follow up. Was evdient the resort was not at capacity either. Room was obviously rushed as mugs were missing, used utensils still in room etc. Was rectified urgently by Karim. Would return, hopefully with a better check in experience

"We stayed at the golden sands by shangri-la in penang 5th to 8th of july. We had a beach /pool facing room which i would strongly recommend. Rooms are spacious and clean, buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food, plenty of pool activities and areas of entertainment for kids,I would highly recommend ..."
