Shutoken Honeymoon Vacations

OK, so the Hotel Niwa in Tokyo is a literal oasis in the middle of the city and it felt so restful to return to this sanctuary at the end of a long day of the spectacular noise and visual overload of Tokyo. From the lobby (and the super helpful staff there), to the breakfast buffet to the lovely tradition-inspired room design, I found this whole experience to be exemplary. There is no ground-floor window or glass door you can look out through from inside and not see greenery, foliage, water displays, wooden walkways, and under-stated beautiful lighting. When I needed help with taxis (because, for some reason, the GO Taxi App wouldn't work in Tokyo, no matter where I was or how many times I tried) and with directions, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I got to where I wanted to go, including walking me out the front door straight into the taxi and sending me off with a respectful bow. The food at the breakfast buffet represented every possible kind of food a visitor or a local might want in the morning - small cozy dining room, greenery out the window, tastefully decorated, and unobtrusive staff making sure everything stayed stocked. Delicious and pleasant! My room, in tasteful white and pale wood tones, had plenty of space and the bathroom, likewise, a good size with all the amenities and comforts you would want. Honestly, I have no notes for anything that needed fixing or tweaking - this hotel did everything right on my June 2026 visit.

This is easily one of the finest hotels I have experienced throughout my extensive travels. The property boasts a magnificent location near Tokyo Tower and Shiba Park, offering exceptional photo opportunities. For our stay, we reserved two accommodations: one featuring a Tokyo Tower view and the other overlooking the city skyline, both of which were absolutely lovely. The rooms are immaculate, and the staff is highly attentive. Opting for lounge access proved invaluable after long days of sightseeing; the lounge features an extensive breakfast, a diverse selection of beverages, and substantial culinary offerings throughout the day. Strategically located next to major train stations, it provides a perfect central base for utilizing Go or Uber. Additionally, the premium Japanese skincare amenities are outstanding. Thank you for an exceptional stay.

I came here as a solo female traveller for my first trip to japan and honestly it was amazing!! The room was very clean and I liked the layout a lot. The lights in the room are dimmable which is a plus for me. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. One small drawback was the walk to shinjuku station is a little longer than I personally would’ve liked but it wasn’t bad at all!

Beautiful hotel we stayed at the main otani and the room was big enough for 3 beds. The bathroom was outdated but still very clean. The otani garden side is the newer hotel rooms. There’s 3 bars and a few restaurants in the hotel with good varieties to pick from. the garden itself and pool is what made me pick this hotel. We still enjoyed our time there and subway station is outside the hotel.Thanks again Otani staff

Despite being past its prime, this is still a five star property based on the staff, services, amenities and facilities. Everyone is 100% dedicated to the guest’s needs. The rooms and entire look and feel need a serious refresh, and we understand that is on the way. The restaurants are a bit hit and miss, but there are plenty of options and the breakfast and dinner buffets give everyone choices. And the location is perfect for Ginza shopping away from the intensity of the much busier Shirabuya.
