Cap Cana Honeymoon Vacations

This is our fourth time in the hotel; the staff service is still at the same outstanding standard, but other elements were discouraging. The restaurant opening days/hours are inconsistent with the all inclusive amenities offering; we could not visit the Steakhouse, as we were told that wait time was over an hour on 06/13, that we could return on 06/14; we returned on 06/14 and it was closed. When a hotel representative was asked, the reply was that “due to low occupancy, the hotel was opening only two of its three specialty restaurants per night”; I was induced to buy a three specialty restaurant options experience, and therefore that was my expectation. On 06/13, when visiting “The Blue Marlin” for lunch, we were told that the restaurant was working with a very limited ona small page menu, but not to worry, it was only going to be for s few days; I couldn’t care less if it was only for a few days, my visit was only for a few days, as I believe most felow guests stays do, and I was induced to buy an experience with a full menu, similar to my past stays. While the beach has never been one of the hotel’s strongholds, the saragssum problem has become unbearable, with the organic odor extending up to most of the outdoor areas; we have to acknowledge that the hotel personnel is doing what they can to mitigate, but sadly, nuissance persists. Would not stay again; I would worry about it if I was the administration, there are plenty of hotels and fierce competition in the area.

This all-inclusive resort is really top-notch! The food was good and the service was incredible (usually). There were so many dining options! (French, Mexican, Buffet, Italian, Steak, Seafood, & Japanese) We were there a week and had a different dining experience every night. Pool staff were very attentive. I kept moving my umbrella to make sure I was in the shade and as soon as I started, an attendant would run over to help. Sometimes servers would walk around with trays of beautiful drinks, and there were buffets, fresh coconuts and crepes by the pools. Music and lots of activities happening in the main pool, but if you want a quiet space, I recommend paying for preferred so you can relax at the peaceful preferred pool. Preferred status also gives you a few more options for dining. Oceana is open for breakfast for preferred guests which is a nice sit-down alternative from the buffet or coffee shop. There is also a bar/restaurant next to the preferred pool that is exclusive. Both pools have lots of umbrellas for shade, cushioned lounge chairs and infinity pool edges looking out over the beach. You really can't swim in the ocean in June because the sargassum is so thick in the water even though the resort does an excellent job removing it from the sand so it doesn't stink in the hot sun. I was worried about mosquitos, but I didn't get a single bite and hubby got about 5 because they love him. We really enjoyed our visit to Secrets Cap Cana.
