I was quite disappointed with my two-night stay. There were several basic issues that made the experience much more frustrating than it should have been.
First, very little and in most cases no English was spoken by the staff. I do not expect everyone to speak fluent English, but for an international hotel, I expected better communication and preparation for international guests.
Second, the hotel has a currency exchange machine, which I specifically planned to use instead of exchanging money at the airport. Unfortunately, it was not working when I arrived. That was a disaster for me as I did not even have money to pay to the taxi that drove me to the hotel.
Most importantly, the toilet in my room clogged after the very first use. This was inconvenient and, frankly, something I should not have had to deal with.
Overall, I left disappointed. These are basic services, and I expected better from a Marriott property, particularly one that welcomes international travelers.
