Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen - Romantik Schloss-Hotel am See
"Great position on the Lake with easy access into Luzern, CHF4 each way. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with standalone Aircon which proved useful during our visit. Be aware most room do not have an unrestricted view of the lake due to a property in front of the hotel. Breakfast is taken across the road at the old hotel, but is good. The restaurant is in the same location across the road and we had a reasonable meal there. There is also a good Brazilian restaurant nearby. Be aware...
"The advertising of this place is a little misleading. The Swiss Chalet is actually across the road from the lake. The lake is on the same property at the Schloss Hotel which is connected, but not the same place. Guests of the Swiss Hotel do have the advantage of using the private lake area though, rather than the public area. The Schloss Hotel is however, much nicer, more modern, and the rich cousin of the Swiss Chalet.. and you clearly pay for what you get. My advice is find the extra cash or...
"As with most hotels in Europe, air-conditioning is not something that exists or if it does generally does not work very well, so you should just understand this if it is going to be very hot during your stay.
We ate at the hotel for dinner and it was excellent. We recommend the food there."
"Great location for walking across the river, shopping and lake cruising. Very clean room and common areas. One very slight negative No luggage racks or counters to use."
"We have 2 rooms and 2 full baths, very spacious! Tourist spots are just a walk away and restaurants are everywhere. Water station located at the lobby with some candies and fresh appples you can grab. The hotel also provided us a bottle made of glass for water refill, quite helpful to keep us hydrated and save some bucks buying water worth 5 chf in some places. Brilliant idea! We had so much fun exploring the beautiful Luzern! 😊"
