This hotel will be demolished next month, in January 2026. The government used Imminent Domain to take over a section of Lakeside property to create a community area. So, it doesn't really matter what I think about this hotel. It was a good place to stay in a variety of ways, but the deal breaker for me was that they refused to give my travel partner and I two room keys. Therefore, every time we went out separately, one of us had to be escorted back to our 10th floor room. The bedroom door of the suite locked when closed and required a key to open, then would beep madly every time it opened. That's disturbing to the person sleeping in the other room. And I got locked out one time in my towel and had to call the desk for help. The shower was utterly translucent. It was supposed to be slightly fogged, but once wet, there was no privacy at all. The toilet was the usual glass walls, also. Why do we want our throne on display? The breakfast was mediocre, the dinner was just plain bad. I think the pho broth was plain water! The staff was excellent. The location was great!

Great location right in the action but on a quieter street than others around. Large family room with separate bedroom for the kids. The kids room was located at the back so insulated from the street noise not that there was much and it got quiet after 9pm. I took ear plugs but didn’t need them. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after.

I had such an amazing stay at the Splendid Secret Hotel! Everything was top-notch. • Room Service & Cleanliness: The room was spotless, super comfortable, and felt like a true retreat. • Breakfast: The buffet was excellent—huge variety, delicious food, and a great start to the day. • Staff & Tour Planning: The staff team was wonderful, especially Ding Dong! Ding Dong was incredibly helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to assist me. • Ha Long Bay Tour: I booked the Ha Long tour through the hotel, and thanks to Ding Dong's seamless organization, the whole trip was smooth and unforgettable. Highly recommend Splendid Secret! It truly offers a five-star experience with exceptional staff like Ding Dong.

Helpful and friendly staff combined with neat rooms and service made this an excellent choice. Wished I was staying for longer to use the pool etc.

It’s hard to fault this place. This hotel has one of the best locations in Hanoi: directly facing the lake, plus the best of both worlds between the Old Town and the French Quarter. On arrival, you are met with a very warm welcome. No queueing up at a reception desk here. The staff come to meet you. I didn’t see the other rooms, but the junior suite was excellent. Elegant decor, large comfortable bed, and a small balcony with a view of trees and the lake. No walk-in shower though; my room had a deep bathtub. Breakfast is served on the top floor restaurant, with a good array of buffet choices as well as food cooked to order. There’s a panoramic view of the city too. Finally, if you want to end your day with a cocktail, there’s a small but attractive roof terrace bar. You can’t go wrong with this hotel. Just book it.

This property has it all! The rooms are clean and spacious, the views are amazing, the spa is wonderful, and the breakfast is superb. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I did not encounter any issues. The location is central to many attractions, such as, Train Street, The water puppet theatre, and Hoan Kiem Lake. Do not skip the breakfast! The variety and quality is absolutely top notch. The staff go above and beyond with service. Arrive early to get a table with a view of the lake. I will definitely stay again. I highly recommend this hotel.

Right at the center of the old quarter, easy walk to everywhere. Lots of restaurants and spa nearby. Staff were super nice and helpful. Most recommended is their breakfast.

Clean, friendly, and efficient

Starting out with the check-in. What you were being quoted is not the exact amount unless you play with cash. Credit card 3% service fee. I considered that a bake & switch. Room is good size but it is dated and it shows it's age. No breakfast onsite, you have walk about 1.5 blocks to another sister property for breakfast. The breakfast there was very limited in selection. The worst part is you can only choose ONE item. If you pick two fried eggs, you can't have the chicken noodle. Two fried eggs are all you can have from the menu that morning.

Este hotel está ubicado en una excelente zona, con fácil acceso a prácticamente todo lo que se necesita y a poca distancia a pie de numerosos restaurantes. A pesar de estar en medio de una calle concurrida, nuestra habitación era tranquila y la cama tamaño king era muy cómoda. Es un hotel pequeño, pero recibimos un servicio excelente, desde el registro de entrada y salida hasta el desayuno buffet y todo lo demás. Todo el personal fue muy atento y se anticipó a nuestras necesidades, ofreciéndonos servicios especiales según nuestras preferencias alimentarias y planes de viaje y actividades. Gracias por una experiencia tan agradable. Sin duda volveremos y recomendamos encarecidamente su hotel.
