Bonaventure Island Waterpark Vacations

Pros: New property so clean Cons: There are stairs and no lift. If you have heavy luggage it is a problem. No daily house keeping It’s literally on the road and there is no sound proofing so there is traffic noise all the time including night and some time sirens. 1 hr early checkin costs CAD 40 plus tax. 3::00 pm checkin is not allowed and checkout is 11:00 am Room that sleeps 6 has only one bathroom. Master bedroom has no air-conditioning The other bedroom had no walls. It only had curtains. Not worth the price they charge. If these are manageable for you at such a high price then everything is fine here.

The location of this property is perfect for exploring Old Quebec and viewing the waterfront. We really enjoyed the cleanliness and care that the staff took with our room prep and turn down nightly. It was nice to be pampered. The property was exceptionally quiet at night. We didn’t hear any hallway noise at all, nor did we hear a peep from any neighbors at all. That was super appreciated. The downstairs bar is very chic and offers a crafted cocktail experience with views of the river. There’s a hot tub and pool upstairs and a spa if you’re interested in that. My only critique is that I wasn’t wild about the hoards of tour busses groups that literally jam pack the lobby and make it almost impossible to move or meet people you’re traveling with. Want sure what was going on, but it made it difficult to even get to the doors at times.

Kindness 10, Location 8, Capacity 0. Big changes from past reviews eg the valet parking is now $40 CAD, and there is no free breakfast. Fine but important to note. The new Bossino restaurant and adjacent cigar lounge seem to be the priority over hotel guests Bizarrely there is no clear entrance or exit from the hotel; we had to navigate the busy restaurant. At one point there was a fire alarm and we all had to evacuate THROUGH THE PACKED RESTAURANT. Uncomfortable and dangerous for anyone with mobility issues. The hallway on the second floor smelled powerfully of cigar smoke. Room 206 was spacious but looks out on garbage bins and an alleyway with delivery docks which was full of drunk loud people on Friday night (At 3am on Saturday the club below was so loud the bed shook). Even with earplugs this got to us. There was no housekeeping after a certain time so the first evening we had no towels or water and only one decaf coffee nespresso capsule. My son used the bath mat to dry off because towels were unavailable. Neither tv worked despite a long phone call to the company in French. We had a two bedroom set up (206) but a bizarre underbed light in the interior bedroom was difficult to turn off. When we succeeded the person in the second sitting room/“bedroom” was in pitch darkness. Even the front desk had difficulty. The finale was waiting 45 minutes post checkout for the valet to bring our car. The front desk gave us soda but please….do better or just give up the hotel piece.
