Tourist Corridor All inclusive Vacations

We stayed at Hacienda Encantada on a last-minute reservation because our home nearby was being repaired. We live in Cabo and regularly spend weekends at local resorts, so we have many properties to compare it with. A hurricane was nearby but forecast to miss Cabo, and understandably the hotel was prepared. As Expedia VIP guests, we were offered a higher-floor room with a better view, but it had already been storm-prepped with fabric covering the windows and all patio furniture stacked inside. Since it was only one night, we simply went outside to enjoy the views. The resort has great views of the Cabo corridor, a large property to explore, and some nice areas for kids. Where it fell short was in the details. We were told locals receive a restaurant discount, but received three different answers during our meals, with only one restaurant honoring it. Food and drinks were average, and overall the resort felt more basic than refined. With so many excellent resort options in Cabo, this isn't one our family would choose to return to.

The property the King Junior Suite w poolside access and staff were exceptional! We really want to thank them for their hospitality and taking care of us while enjoying their beautiful country. Hurricane polo was lurking near by but luckily missed us! The surf made the beach extra hazardous and no sea activities because of the high surf and swells but we had a blast in the resort. The service was excellent in the restaurants but the menu was a bit limited with exotic dishes and the booze selection is limited to cheaper options. Many drinks are straight sugar bombs ad the liquor seemed diluted. We picked up a bottle of bourbon which saved the day otherwise 5 drinks to barely catch a buzz. Still we had a fabulous time regardless.

This facility is part of the Melia Group and wants to sell you a program starting at $4-9k a year for points and access their discounts to a select number of properties. They said no Timeshare pitches, but it took me over an hour to exit this TIMESHARE pitch. If you have Celiac Disease or Diabetes, they make a few attempts to provide alternatives, but I still got sick. The menus never changed, so the food gets boring. But what was prepared was actually very good. I enjoyed the seafood. My wife upgraded her steak to a USDA Prime one evening, and she said it was the best steak she had ever eaten. The facility is beautiful and very large; my wife and I had to walk almost 2 miles per day if we wanted to eat at the restaurants or bars. Few Elevators were working, and lots of remodeling was happening. We had very bad weather for a few days, so we could not use the beach. Upon arrival, we got a hard pitch to upgrade, add spa and schedule the 45 min program (TIMESHARE), sorry to repeat this. They did give us $200 credit, but they tried swapping people to keep us on the hook. The facility and programs are more focused on a younger crowd (30-50), while we are in our 70s. My wife had difficulty with the long walks and lots of stairs (many elevators were out of service), but we managed. The oceanview was spectacular, a turtle hatchery was there but no tours provided.
