The view was excellent I wish the Netflix would work though.

Very spacious room, helpful staff (we met Michael and the French chef at the breakfast restaurant, they are really helpful and cheerful), wonderful view Except one of the staff at the reception assumed asian (myself) should speak Mandarin, cos he only knows Japanese and Mandarin, but very little English. My husband is from England and the staff insisted to speak to me in Mandarin. I guess as a paid customer we will have to do what's convenient for the staff not the other way round right? I hold a hk passport doesn't mean I HAVE to speak Mandarin or know this language. Never Assume, we speak Cantonese in HK.

We stayed in a club room. The check-in for club guests went really smoothly with friendly and courteous staff. While the welcome drink was definitely appreciated, it was important to our stay to have the facilities explained to us (closures/lounge times/offerings). Having said that, we experienced a challenge with language which complicated our understanding of what was available. The room was bright and well-appointed. The club lounge offered a great variety of food and beverages and clearly marked the foods which, as a guest with severe allergies, was extremely helpful. We had full days in Okinawa and found the removal of food at 19:00 each evening too early and inconvenient. We sought activity recommendations and transportation suggestions from the front desk. The staff tried to be helpful but they spoke little English and had to consult a book about activities and transportation. Given The Oriental’s status as a higher end international hotel, I would have expected a specific concierge position who would be well-versed in local activities and have multilingual skills. While the hotel is not on the beach, arranging drop-off and pick-up shuttle service to the beach and public transportation was easy and wait time was short. The hotel’s location is great if you are using public transportation to get to/from the airport and visit sights along the west coast if you don’t have a car. We didn’t rent a car and found public transportation very convenient.

Our all time favourite hotel The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds, clean and soft bedsheets and towels without the usual bleach smell you may smell in hotel towels / sheets. The attention to detail is applaudable. Don’t miss the buffet breakfast too, the spread and quality is one of the best around. It’s my 5th stay already and i still can’t wait to be back again.

This was my second visit. As always, hotel staff provided highly attentive service, focusing on anticipation of guest needs.

Did not stay. Airplane arrived late and stayed in Tokyo

The room size and amenities were excellent. The bathtub was large and the shower was very good.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. If you opt out of every day cleaning, you recieve a 1000yen voucher to spend at the restaurant or gift shop, which was fun. There are free different flavor bath salts, and a self-serve bar and coffee mixing station. The room was huge, clean and has lots of bits to make you feel welcome and relaxed. We never heard any of our neighbors, and the bed & pillows were amazing. There were two ACs in the room, so yiu can keep the room cool or keep the balcony door open for warm sea air. A bit of a shame that the pool closes at 6 (during the off season when we went), but that was the only downside.
