The room was “ok”. Loved the shower room and that it is separate from the toilet. But the room overall lacked a vibe. The staff were nice but kind of dismissive. They are working the restaurant in addition the front desk so the check in was kind of rushed. The walk to the train wasn’t too bad. I did prefer staying outside of the center of Amsterdam as it was a bit chill. I didn’t know our room would be right over the restaurant so the noise level was pretty loud until late evenings.

If you've looking for a hotel that is centrally located, with a busy square around it, then this hotel works. But we didn’t like the fact we were kept awake by noise from the hotel's own bar and the square until at least 3am, even though we were in a room at the back of the hotel. Also, we stayed 3 nights and never had our room cleaned or towels changed during our stay. Nonetheless, the staff were friendly, it felt safe and it was only a 10 minute walk to the station.

The property was really cool, hidden between restaurants. My room had 4 meter high ceilings, a beautifull bathroom and a very comfy bed. They allowed me to check in very early to accomodate me having to be somewhere else during the check-in timeframe. Also the room was very clean every day.

The property was beautiful and was in a really nice location near by restaurants and shops. The centrum of Amsterdam was about 10-15 min away and there were a lot of parking options.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff very friendly, Room was great with very comfortable bed. Our stay was around kings day which we wasnt aware of when we booked but was informed via email after we booked informing us, we wasnt sure what to expect as we didnt know anything about kings day as we are british. It was very noisey on our first night as was partying going on right out side our window but the earplugs that was provided sort of did help and we still manged to get some sleep that night. But We made the most of kings day and got into the spirt of things so we didnt mind at all. Was great to expericence it and will deffinatly come to Amsterdam again and would stay in this hotel and location again also. All in all was a great stay! .

Nice place!

Very nice stay, we were early the staff let us check in at 2pm. Really close to lots of restaurants and shopping. 12min ride to Amsterdam Centraal.

The Monument Hotel was excellent. I loved there outdoor area just sitting and chilling. Laid back and the staff were attentive , friendly and helpful. Great food. The rooms were lovely modern and clean. I would definitely recommend the Monument for your stay in the beautiful Zaandam.

Good value for the money

Nice self-service hotel near Zaandam main street. Good quality beds and pillows. Roma were also well cleaned. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Some noise from the bars will find it's way to the first floor rooms especially during weekends.

Good place to stay based on price and conveniences nearby. The rooms are actually quite nice and super soft pillows. This property is adjoined by a restaurant and several late night eating options. Even though it can get loud outside, you never hear it from your room. The only thing i didn't like is there is no front desk staff...its actually the wait staff from the restaurant, which was odd. There is no one at thr desk during early morning hours because the restaurant is closed. I arrived early afternoon and had to figure out how to get assistance. So if you need hotel assistance, you may be stranded.

We have one recommendation and that is to have the windows in the room open maybe not completely but enough to air the room but apart from that our stay was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful check in was so easy with the self check, rooms clean and the location was great with everything you need within a15 minute walk. Definitely recommend anyone to stay and will stay again if visiting Zaandam
