Hotel is obviously a heritage building and older, we enjoyed our stay though, for the price and the location it's hard to beat especially considering in Amsterdam why would you be spending much time in the hotel anyways

The building is very tired and the room was shabby but the lady who checked us in was lovely and helped us with a city map. It's a gorgeous area. The bed was very comfy and the shower was good so although it doesn't look like much we'd come back.

Good communication from reception when I couldn't arrive at the time I expected, easy self check-in option after 8pm. Good location to access popular hotspots, but with the benefit of staying in a quieter area. Felt safe and cosy in my room, modest and just right!

Location was the main benefit. Many of the tourist locations were within walking distance. Restaurant had very limited options and the hours were challenging (didn't open until later in the morning).

The best thing for me was its location. The basic room is exactly that. Friendly staff although reception is not open everyday. Stairs to third level room might be a challenge for some.

Ok but probably would not stay again

Although we didn’t have breakfast (didn’t start until way too late), I understand the choices were very limited. Rooms were very small, staircases were very narrow which made carrying our luggage up the stairs quite difficult. The front desk was very friendly. Location of hotel was great so if that is important then this is the hotel for you. If a little larger room with some amenities is important then I would look elsewhere.

The room was small but really cute, i had booked specifically because all the mirrors looked fun. Everything was very clean and bed was comfortable. The staff are really lovely. I would stay here again. The location could not have been better.

Be prepared for steep stairs! I knew there wasn't an elevator, but staying on the fourth (US fifth) floor was a pretty steep hike. The room and bed were comfortable, though the TV didn't have a signal. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but the shower had great water pressure and hot water. There wasn't daily housekeeping in the room, which was fine for me, but FYI for others. I loved the convenience of the location -- it was close to a lot and super convenient, but on a quiet canal and so was nicely peaceful at night. It was also a lot closer to Waterlooplein than it seemed on the map, so that was a nice surprise when arriving. The room would be tight for two people, but wasn't too cramped for just me.

The good: Historic property, Clean, location, felt secure, excellent and very comfortable bed. The NOT so good: Tiny bedroom, bath stall; hard to keep water confined to the shower pan, almost unable to open the window; as there is no AC and needed air circulation. Other than that; we probably will stay again, basically for the price we paid.

This is an old facility with sub standard amenities. While the staff are helpful and the location interesting it doesn't make up for the fact that i feel ripped off, paying $AUD237 for a room worth less than half that. That Wotif would advertise such poor quality accommodation on its website makes me wary of trusting Wotif in future.
