"The hotel has a good location in the museum quarter of Amsterdam and a good breakfast at a reasonable price. But our introduction to the hotel was damaged by the staff at reception. I'd received notification three weeks in advance that I was eligible for a reduced price of a room upgrade, which I clicked to accept. I didn't hear back. When checking in, I was told there was no record of the offer and that these upgrades depended on availability and there was no room available. I immediately checking online with Expedia and the deluxe room I wanted was available for the time of our stay. However, no discussion of this with the staff worked. We were then told that we'd have to wait three hours for our original room. A few minutes later, the staff checked again and our room was ready. The behaviour of the staff affected our perception of the stay. The room we had was cramped for two people."
