“What a great hotel! We really enjoyed our 5 days here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean. It was great to have the breakfast at the cafe downstairs and the restaurant on the rooftop upstairs, both had an amazing range of food options. Everything was neat and tidy. And the room had plenty of space for us to fit our child on a wrong away bed. We would definitely stay again.”

“A lovely heritage property, very helpful staff. It's an very large old building which has some renovation work going on (this did not disturb me in the slightest as it was far from my room). It did make it a little dusty but this is unavoidable as renovations will always be needed to maintain old buildings. Nice room, could do with blackout curtains as there are many windows and some light coming in during the night.”

“The Shakun hotel is well located in the city and just slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the main road; it's great for tour pick-ups and grabbing an Uber to dinner in the evening. The hotel is a little dated and perhaps not quite as grand as it once was. We travelled outside of peak season and it felt like the staff had been switched to a less experienced team who perhaps weren't as knowledgeable about service. However, they were always really friendly when we approached them. However,...

“in three day stys, First day, towel was not chnaged. smelling bad. TV was not configured. No dryer. when three days booking was they blocked the card access after first day.”

“Great location and great Team … very caring !!”

“I booked the room with king size bed and it was confirmed. But when I reached hotel with my toddler and infant I was given different room with twin bed only. This was so terrible experience and I have to sleep on mattresses and it spoiled my family vacation. I really hate when booking was confirmed and in hotel something else was given with no other choice. ”

“This luxurious hostel is exactly as has been shown in the pictures! The private rooms are very spacey and we enjoyed the king size bed a lot. Jay (the manager) is a super friendly and always open for a chat. He is super warm hearted and funny, and helped us out with any problems. The food in Amano (their restaurant) is delicious!”
