As a hostel, the rooms are basic, but we had a private room and private bath. It was a more economical choice than any other hotel in city center.

decent hostel- did a private room. the bathroom smelled terrible .. wasn’t the best. the bed was soft, but for the king it’s 2 doubles pushed together and they move often so sometimes i woke up in the middle on the hard bed frame. This was a decent place for the price. it was packed with large groups, kids, etc. had a good event/dj scene for the night… location is great and very walkable. 18 min walk from La Sagrada, far from the beach to walk 50 min, but close by train (15 min)! great food nearby… check out La pepita. but overall, i wouldn’t stay here again.

The Generator was a great place to stay for a few days in Barcelona. The facilties were clean and the staff were very helpful and kind. The bar and restaurant on site, as well as the lounge area were very nice touches. I enjoyed my stay and would return again.

We had a pleasant stay at Generator. We really loved the balcony in our room as well as the rooftop, which had a great view of the Sagrada and fireworks during La Merce. The room was minimal but comfortable, though the lights were confusing and one of the bedside lights didn't work. We also had to pay to have our luggage stored, which was inconvenient.

Hotel rooms are far too basic, advertised as a king size bed but it’s just two singles put together. No amenities, safe. Need to pay for storage and 10am checkout is too early, and 50 euros too much to extend it

I liked the location, thats all. I found a small worm in my bed, and went to tell reception I wanted to change beds. What did they do then? They just changed the sheets on that bed and assigned another guest there :/ the bed wasn't even comfortable. I felt the springs up my back. The elevator situation was also a mess, slow and sometimes you don't fit because of number of people. Guests there are mostly late teens.

I booked an all-female dorm and yet a gentleman was given a bed in my room. The situation took multiple complaints before it was finally handled. Other than that, it's not too bad.

Loved my stay at Generator Barcelona. Very convenient location close to the metro and nice facilities all around. The bed in the all female dorm was comfortable and everything was very clean. Only complaint was the noise some of the other guests made when coming into the dorm room late at night. Otherwise, a terrific stay!

Turn the heating down!!
Very friendly staff, clean and pretty comfortable. But on second night, heating was turned on/up and it was unbearable - even with windows open. A real sauna, particularly on top bunks. I asked for it to be turned down and it was set at 22 degrees but still too warm. Asked again, with backing from others in dorm, but nothing happened. I think you would have a good reception to signs saying that because of climate change and the war you are being conservative on heating. Guests should tell you if not comfortable. Guests will appreciate this! Only other issue was that the access to the roof was locked at night. Is this not a fire risk?
