"The staff was wonderful; extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good. The rooms and common areas were spotless. The driveway into the parking area needs work, but to be fair, since it's shared with other businesses which are closer to the road, that is probably out of their control. "

"I wish we had more reasons to stay near the Briar Inn because we would be regulars! We only needed one night in order to attend a few graduation events and the Briar Inn far exceeded our expectations. I could tell from the Expedia listing that it was going to be a quaint little place to stay outside of Salem, but it was really exceptional. The fine details in the rooms (snacks to purchase, complimentary bottled water, working fireplace, etc) really made this stay perfect. The bathrooms are gorgeous (separate large tub!) and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The staff are so very friendly! It's obvious they take pride in where they work. If we don't get another reason to drive up that way again soon, we might just book a weekend in the summer to enjoy the pool and local area :)"

"Our stay at the hotel was very disappointing due to issues with the air conditioning. We booked a double suite, but the AC in the room did not work at all—no matter how we adjusted the thermostat, it would not turn on. We reported the issue to the front desk, and initially they said they would try to get a repair person to look at it. However, later that evening we were informed that no maintenance staff would be available until Monday, leaving the problem unresolved during our stay. To their credit, staff did check the unit and confirmed the issue, but the only solution offered was a box fan placed in the window. Unfortunately, this was not a sufficient fix. After two nights of poor sleep in an uncomfortable room, it was clear the staff did not have an effective plan to resolve the situation. Overall, this significantly impacted our experience. "

"The room was generally clean, but the amenities were terrible. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body soap. There were reusable fillable containers that were empty.. We had no toilet paper. I had to ask for toilet paper and extra towels and we just made do with the one bar of soap we were given. The bed was fine. There is a refrigerator. The breakfast was awful. The coffee maker wasn’t working and then by the time they got it working it was basically Sanka/some powdered coffee mix. "
