"Spent the weekend here as a group for my sisters hen weekend. The photographs don’t do the facility justice. The house was amazing with so much character!! The staircase, aga and fire were fantastic!! Set in such a peaceful space with excellent grounds for kids and big ‘kids’ to play games. Plenty of space and rooms were an amazing size and comfortable! "The hotel was excellent, clean, tidy, new with lots of amenities although nothing I used much of. Local also excellent, just of two of Glasgow's main streets and about a 10 minute walk from Glasgow central station. Room was clean and tidy, small, but hey was only sleeping in the room for one night. Staff on the open reception where polite and helpful, even at 3am! The breakfast was the best I have had in any hotel, massive choice of freshly made foods. There was only one gripe I had in then when booking in that had to take a double room when I was on my own (possibly due to room availability) but when it came to booking breakfast I wasn't able to book a single breakfast so waited to book when I arrived at the hotel to find it was £4 more expensive for a single breakfast than it was if I had booked the 2 breakfasts online, to make that worse it was another £5 ish if I decided the morning after to take breakfast taking it to well over £21, which was then I bit steep. As knew I was going to be most of the night I actually didn't know whether I was going to make breakfast in time at all so felt like I had been stung for it even though it was excellent. Great place but breakfast charging needs sorting to be more flexible and not priced differently depending on when booked."

"The hotel was lovely and self contained which was perfect for the weekend. The bar and restaurants were lovely and the staff were so helpful and nice. The breakfast included was vast and definitely value I’d say. Our room wasn’t ready by check in time which was inconvenient but not terrible as we just went to the bar. Unfortunately though we didn’t love our room as it was on the ground floor so we heard a lot of passing guests outside and our bathroom was a wet room for disabled access so the floor was pretty wet with the shower as the water seemed to travel. The bed/pillows were not that comfortable (the bed felt solid) so I didn’t sleep much our first night and very broken the next. Overall though, we loved the hotel just not the room but it wouldn’t stop me going back. I’d just be sure to say I want a room on an upper floor and probably bring my own pillow :/"

"The room was fabulous with a big comfortable bed. All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful. We were travelling with our dog so couldn’t eat breakfast in the main restaurant but we ate in the tavern instead which was lovely and quiet. We could pick from their menu or order anything from the main restaurant including the buffet too. In the evenings we ate in La Vista and again took our dog, the first was great and again we were well looked after. My only negative would be the cost of bringing our dog at £50 per night which is very high compared to other hotels on our trip and the very long dog policy we needed to sign on arrival which we’ve never come across before. As responsible dog owners we always clean up after our dog and would expect to pay extra in the unlikely event of damage."
