The room in the old hotel was so cute and charming and very clean. I had three complaints and they are there was no desk or table in the room to work at. It would have been nice to have a table or suitcase stand to put my luggage on and my third issue was the toilets in the building were all so low they were difficult to use. Also a coffee maker in the room would have been nice.

Great location, close to Bodie, Virginia Lakes, other outdoor attractions. We were a bit surprised that our room had 2 twin beds (thought we booked a double). The water temp in the showers kept wavering from too hot to too cold while we were showering; the lights in the bathroom are on a motion sensor and turn off while you're in the shower. Good restaurant and bar. Also liked "The Rhino" restaurant and bar accross the street

TV didn’t work the first night. Spider webs in the room- on the walls, light fixture and hanging from the evening. Teo single beds. Was told they could fix the Tv until the next day. We had to ask again the next day. Was told they would look into the AAA discount, nothing happened. Beds were uncomfortable. Restaurant was excellent. Coffee in the morning was good.

Wonderful historic hotel, a true Inn with lodging, dining, and a tavern. Even a lounge with a piano. Makes you wonder who else has stayed in your room in the last 150 years.

Nous avons dormi dans la partie historique de l'hôtel avec toilettes et douche au bout du couloir. Chambre de 2 lits , petite, propre. Nécessaire de toilette. Hôtel familial. Restaurant et bar. Petit-déjeuner un peu cher servi dans une salle "vintage". Cadre agréable.

Adequate, tired old lodgings
Everything about this trip was adequate, nothing more. Receptionist said lack of heat in the room was because I chose a "cowboy room" in a "historic" place. She did give me a cheap plastic space heater but really, should I have to ask for a heater when night temps headed to 25 degrees? The term "historic" was used to explain away the tired facility. It certainly needs updating. No room darkening shades.

Great Stay and Beautiful area
It was an experience since the area was very beautiful and the rooms were really clean. The beds were comfier than expected. The only issue I had was no mini fridge or microwave. The food is excellent in the area and so we were often left with left overs but had nowhere to keep them or reheat them. It probably had to do with the power usage warning they had for the AC and Heater. The problem was solved quickly though for our drinks by just getting an Ice Chest. Still was a very enjoyable stay.

The staff was nice and let me check in early once the room was cleaned. The walls are pretty thin and could hear the baby next door crying, but it didn’t last forever. The room was clean and was within walking distance of the few little shops in town.

Leaky, moldy shared bathrooms. Extremely uncomfortable bed. Windows wouldn’t function and it was very warm.

This was a very unique inn, transporting guests back to the Victorian era. The rooms were wood flooring, wood beadboard walls with cute wallpaper designs. We chose a room with two double beds to accommodate our family of 4. We dined at the Inn as well. While the entrees are a bit pricey, you definitely get very large portions. I would recommend ordering one entree, paying the extra fee to split a plate and add an extra side. You'll save money that way and it still is plenty of food! The food is delicious, very much like coming home to a homemade, hot meal. I ordered the meatloaf with a baked potato and fresh vegetables. It came with two slices of meatloaf, a very large portion of freshly cooked vegetables (I was surprised at the quality, they were not overdone, nor did they taste like they were frozen and then microwaved as the case may be at some restaurants) and a baked potato. I would definitely come back here again when in the area.

Clean, comfortable and special.
Clean and comfortable, with excellent food but dated facilities. Accommodation is either a motel, or an inside room in the old building. Inside the rooms are old style, off an upstairs corridor with shower rooms at the end (and not great ones). Not even a wash basin in the rooms. That's the down side, and whether it matters depends on you. Everything else about this place is excellent if you like old style charm. The windows are original wood. The staircase may be 19C. The decor is in keeping with the building. Love it! The staff are marvelous, and the food is very good. We'd definitely stay here again. The Expedia booking mechanism let us and the hotel down very badly, so I'd advise you to call and check things are as they should be after you've booked.

Nice place to stay for the budget minded. No A/C but does cool off in the evening. Worth the money since everything else about Bridgeport is set up to rip tourists off. I never liked this town.
