“We recently stayed at the Riu Santa Fe, and overall we had a great experience. The resort is beautiful, the food was good, and once we arrived, everything went smoothly. My only complaint was the lack of communication before our trip. We were traveling as a family of five (two adults and three teenagers) and had booked two rooms. I wanted to request that our rooms be close together or at least on the same floor. Since we booked through Expedia, the hotel initially told us they couldn't assist...

“Dining with a Gluten Allergy is difficult. Staff not very knowledgeable about gluten allergies or even what gluten is. There food signs show gluten in things that are gluten free and not marked on things that are gluten. You have to be very careful and not much options at buffet. The specialty dining for dinner staff is more knowledgeable. So at least you can enjoy dinner more stress free”

“I’ve been staying at this property for ten years now every year. This year the resort looked the best I’ve ever seen it. Staff was amazing as usual. Absolute perfect trip. Can’t wait to get back.”

“Overall is good. Some bed bugs, front desk has often only one staff member, bath toiletries and other essentials not replaced after having room clean. For example, hand soap, Kleenex, kitchen towels.”

“All the pools were clean, the beach was clean, the staff was nice, the rooms could definitely be updated, but I was upgraded in so I cannot complain. It’s really close to the bars, coffee and restaurants so don’t feel stuck to stay on resort but the resort was excellent. Five star review for me. Excellent service at the pool, the food was good, but again you’re close to eating off resort so unless you purchased the all inclusive package, I would say try out some different local restaurants like...

“Our experience was terrible. We were scammed by the hotel staff. We made a boat tour reservation through the hotel concierge on the first day of our trip, which was supposed to include fishing, snorkeling, and whale watching. We paid $600 for the tour. However, all we got was a fishing trip on an old boat. We got soaked by the waves because the roof of the boat was broken, and there were no life vests for the kids. The concierge had said the license fee was included, but we had to pay $75 each...
