"Very nice small hotel with attentive staff and simplistic but stylish decor. There are several restaurants within walking distance, but most were closed due to the time of the year (September a lot of places close). There was a bad storm and the power went out for >11 hours which was unpleasant, but out of control of the hotel and staff. Beach is within walking distance and there is a little bit of an ocean view."

One of the highlights was the unique character of the beachfront itself—there’s a mix of soft sand, dramatic rocks, and local wildlife like crabs and small fish in tide pools, which made it feel immersive and special. The property was quiet and felt very private, which we really appreciated. The hosts were wonderful—friendly, responsive, and full of great recommendations that made our stay even better. We felt truly welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommend this stay for anyone looking for a relaxing oceanfront retreat with natural charm and excellent hospitality."

"We loved this our time at Villa Santa Cruz and will definitely go back if we find ourselves in the area again. The staff were amazing, the service excellent, grounds and property top notch. We saw so many whales in the ocean, and such great birdwatching as well. The beach is pristine and peaceful. The pool is clean and lovely. The hot tub was actually hot too! The only thing I would factor in to your stay is that the roundtrip transportation from SJD is a little pricier than I expected. Not a huge deal, just something to consider when budgeting for your trip."
