Great stay! Initially, there was a problem with the shower and they changed our room right away. The room was spotless including the kitchen area. Breakfast was delicious. Parking was convenient, especially when using the side entrance to the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely stay with helpful staff excellent location. Breakfast is a wonderful full dining experience -no pre packaged chain hotel offerings. One can easily walk to shopping, dining, cafes and Lake Michigan. Rooms very clean with lots of storage /closet space. Mini kitchens are fully equipped with new appliances that all work! Only comment is that bed and pillows were very firm and made it uncomfortable to sleep-this is the reason for 4 stars and not 5.

The staff was lovely. Housekeeping excellent and very clean. The lobby decor is clean but run down, like visiting tidy grandparents. It could easily be modernized but it’s a taste choice that feels budget conscious. It isn’t a luxurious experience but it is nice. Phenomenal hotel!! From the moment I walked in my room, I knew that this would be preferred choice for my next Chicago area visit. Great staff, especially the restaurant staff!! Beautiful property. Close to everything, including train!! Only cons: If you book through a 3rd party app (Expedia), let them know immediately or wake up to daily charges. Also, the $50 early check in fee... if my room is already ready, I don't understand the fee. Other than that, you'll have no regrets with The GEM of Evanston!!!

Comfortable and Fancy!

Very good hotel to stay with family, because there are kitchenetts and the inroom washer&dryer. The neighborhood is very quiet, and there are lots of places to dine in or shopping flashly. The most favorable was the free breakfast in the Gem museum right across the building!

The breakfast was amazing, great Tiffany stain glass to look at while eating. Parking was so easy, and staff were very friendly. Room was clean, a little small but worked great for what we need it for, loved the full kitchen. Will return every time we are in town.

This is a lovely spot. It was quiet, basically a studio apartment with a washing machine. And an easy walk to a coffee shop, bakery, 7-11. The signs inside said they will soon have a Mediterranean restaurant as well.

The staff was exceptional, willing to assist in any way and very friendly. All areas, including the room, were kept clean. The lobby and garden were truly unique. I even managed to take pictures of a bunny. The breakfast fruit was very fresh and delicious. We would consider staying again. The only trouble we had was clearly marked parking signs and spot availability.

LOVED THIS HOTEL IN EVERY WAY!

This hotel FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. I selected this hotel for a girls shopping weekend and everyone was absolutely amazed at what a wonderful selection I had made. It was sparkly clean, comfortable, beautiful windows and the included breakfast was the biggest treat. Just hit reserve and enjoy a fabulous urban environment getaway with easy parking and complete safety.
