I don't know who is giving this motel such good reviews; perhaps friends & family because I definitely didn't experience an 8+ star review motel. Now mind you, I'm far from picky. I good with a clean, basic room. The room was clean (mostly). Could use a vacuum around the sides all around the perimeter.
It is definitely the smallest room I've ever stayed in.
The walls are paper thin. In addition to listening to traffic all night I had to listen to the conversations in the next room. Idk why they even got a room they never slept & ran in & out all night. Ugh!! The bed was only a small step up from sleeping on the floor. And the pillows weren't any better. The room was freezing! I thought that maybe it was a "magic fingers" bed but it turned out it was just me shivering and all night. The crack around the door didn't help, plus the draft around the old window which is about a foot from the bed. I finally put the heater on 83 but it only heats while it's running there's no insulation to keep it warm. It's January in the Texas Panhandle; it's cold. I'm a AAA member & picked this motel cuz it says AAA approved. I'll be phoning AAA to find out if that's even current & how they could recommend.
I'm all for supporting local businesses and try to when possible but I do want a decent room. Nothing fancy, just comfortable. If perhaps the bed wasn't so hard, didn't squeak every time you moved, pillows thicker than 2", perhaps I'd be in a better mood for this review.
