“The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.”

“Southern hospitality at its finest. The staff could t be any friendlier or more accommodating. Each of the charming 14 rooms comes with its own storage unit where we were able to stow our bicycles and beach chairs. We loved sitting on the screened in porch overlooking tent marsh and watching the birds. It was a wonderful experience. ”

“The room was great and very comfortable and we loved the location. I was very put off by the lack of service and irritating policies and signs. We were driving to Wilmington and had made plans to visit with friends in Pawleys Island on the way up. The Verandas only has check in from 4 to 5 pm so I sent a message to say we would not arrive until 6:00. No response so I called them. They said I would receive an email from them giving me a link to provide my ID and credit card images. I thanked them...

“It was a great room! Nice and spacious.. It was just what we needed with lots of room for special needs. The check in staff was so polite and we felt like we were at home! The only issue was the glass sliding door was too hard to open and close.. Hope to stay with you again!!! Thanks!”
