NOT as advertised, otherwise a comfortable stay. Future guests note this is a ROOM ONLY establishment. Restaurant currently shut, so NO breakfast available (ok, so they had a flood last year, So why not change the website??. Current website and Expedia out of date), Dirty toilet on arrival, rest of room very clean. On the plus side, the hosts were friendly and accommodating, toilet was cleaned immediately, plus beds are EXCELLENT!

Tiles had come off the wall in the ensuite and the dust only half cleared. It was explained that the previous occupants had kicked the tiles off but it was clear that they had fallen off due to the damp state of the wall. I expected the room to be cleaned properly while we were out but we never saw the owners after. Never again!

Stayed 2 nights, room not cleaned or made up so tea cups had to be cleaned in the sink. Spare tea bags and coffee etc. left on shelf outside room to “help yourself” Poor Yale lock on door with no latched lock. No lock on bathroom door and no toilet roll holder. Wallpaper ripped in numerous places and stairs carpet in poor condition. Would not recommend.

Booked for one night when there was a winter offer on so paid £70 room only. No breakfast facilities at the moment. Basic room. A bit grubby and dusty. Everything tired and worn. Had to hold shower door closed with my knee. Great view from the window Right on the beach. Lovely lady there to check us in but no one around in the morning. Just had to lean over and drop the key on the desk.

Arrived mid afternoon and the Hotel was locked with a note on the door to call Stephen who was in the pub. We were eventually let in by a woman who had also come from the pub. She didn’t introduce herself, showed us to a room that smelled musty and had dirty hand prints on the door. Even though the hotel professes to also be a restaurant there was no sign of any where that might happen and we were pointed to a fish restaurant further down the beach which she admitted she hadn’t visited. When we asked about breakfast we were pointed to a cafe round the corner. She then left to go back to the pub leaving us completely alone in the hotel. We left. Given the attention we received I’m sure they have no idea that we didn’t stay longer than 10 minutes. Avoid it at all costs.

Appalling room matched by terrible service
On arrival met by man who gave us our key and turned on the central heating to warm room. Room had not been hoovered, flaking paintwork on the carpet, tv didn’t work, no soap in dispenser, milk was out of date last December and teabags were open and dry. Dining room was closed. No breakfast. No staff around from 8.15 to 9 am. Bell in reception didn’t work. There was a note with a contact number on reception. It went straight to answer machine. Another guest told us they had been informed about lack of breakfast and advised us to find a cafe. Whilst doing this we sent a text to the reception number and got a reply from a lady who said she had not worked there for six months! But she would send a message to owner. He eventually contacted us to say we should leave and put key in reception and he would refund us through hotels.com. We have had no further communication from him or any refund. We had stayed here previously with great food and service but it appears to have been totally neglected. Had we been informed of the situation re lack of breakfast we would have booked elsewhere, as it was we had to find alternative accommodation at very short notice.
