“We absolutely loved our stay at the Mansion House. It is within walking distance of all the sites in Elgin plus has very accessible parking. The surrounding walks and neighboring river made me feel like a character in a Jane Austin novel. Iona, Billy and all the staff made us feel like family. We even learned how to play snooker. Breakfast couldn’t have been better or more convenient. Will definitely try to return every time we go to Scotland!!!”

“I love the location and been staying here on and off for 20 years but just feel the price is a little steep nowdays for a single person, especially as they want to charge you extra for breakfast. Staff are lovely and can't do enough to help you. Always clean and tidy and they are doing upgrades at the moments”

“Hotel really well located for amenities and a brilliant sea view. The room was clean and comfortable. On street parking limited on Saturday. Hallway areas looking pretty run down and main door for hotel guests was broken so open all night. Bit of a safety risk. Sat down for breakfast and then we were forgotten about. It took 20 mins before I got up and asked a girl who was mopping the floors if we could order. Another 25 mins for the breakfast to arrive. When it arrived it was ok but nothing...

“Rooms were great, exceeding expectations considering its location in the countryside and cheap price. However, the owner should not be so aggressive about inconveniences caused by guests. If he thought we were too loud in our rooms, the owner should have simply said so. Barging in to our room without any warning or properly announcing himself(he just opened the door and came in his bathrobes) was unacceptable. Proceeding to then waving/pointing the end of his walking stick at his guests' faces...

“We were a couple traveling from the United States, both in our later 50s. We ended up not staying in the room. After having to bring our four suitcases up two flights of stairs, our room was incredibly hot. When we opened the windows to try to cool things off, we were met by several flies and other insects. The lodging is on a very busy street in Elgin. The room itself was very nice and clean, so for a solo traveler, or perhaps anyone younger than us, this may have been the perfect stay. It had...

“Rooms are all in upper floors 2nd or above, no elevator/lifts made it difficult for elders. The rooms are well maintained. Water pressure/hot water is an issue.”
