"The fact that this property uses the word “resort” in its name is a complete farce. It is a motel. It is decent but absolutely underwhelming in just about every way. However, the pool was heated and that was wonderful particularly on the rainy or overcast days. I wish this place used more representative photos or took resort out of its name. Definitely disappointing. "

"We reached out to customer service on the day of check in to explain that my partner was experiencing severe food poisoning and to request an early check-in so she could have a place to rest. We were directed to submit the request through the “virtual front desk” as this is the ONLY way to request this accommodation. Two days later—at 10:30 AM on the day of checkout—the request was still pending. Despite this, we received a message stating they were happy they were able to accommodate our request, which is angering after having to watch my partner struggle with nowhere to rest for hours as we waited for the request to be accepted the day of check in days earlier. No communication. No follow up. Not even a response in the app we were so flippantly directed to.  Dear Hillsboro Beach Resort by Kasa, and whoever is on the other end of your guest text support: If you plan to rely on a “virtual front desk” for guest requests, there needs to be a timely and reliable response system in place. I truly hope that when you or someone you love is 1,500 miles away from home and experiencing that much difficulty, you are treated with more compassion and care than you treated us with. I understand that policies and systems are in place for operational reasons, but in situations involving guest health and well-being, some degree of flexibility and human decency/responsiveness is essential. One star is too many.  "
