"The property was in pleasant grounds, in an attractive village. There are a number of b and b rooms in the barn which is now an annex to the main house. The room had a high ceiling so was airy and spacious. The ensuite shower room was too. The bed could be a double or two singles so was large size and we found to be comfortable. "The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great."

"Lovely hotel for a few days while at a wedding. Clean and spacious room with effective shower. Coincided with the Chester Folk Festival in the village, so evenings were really lively. As we were with friends in the village, we didn't have a main meal at the pub / hotel, but my daughter's snack was excellent. The menu had plenty of choices. Only disappointment was that cooked breakfasts were not available, but a good selection of light food was provided. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Excellent bar with four draft beers. "

"This is a fantastic location, conveniently situated close to the motorway network while still offering a peaceful rural setting. The hot tub and swimming pool were excellent additions and really enhanced the stay. The amenities are modern overall; however, the TV and WiFi were disappointing. The WiFi connection was very unreliable and barely usable at times, and the TV did not support streaming services, which was a drawback."

"We arrived late in the evening and the welcome was a little underwhelming (must have been a long day). The only slight issues with the room were a downlighter hanging from the ceiling and the plug not sealing the bath properly, so we were time limited in the bath before all the water escaped! These were minor issues and not deemed worthy of reporting. Room cleanliness and comfort was very good and slept well. Day 1 breakfast was a bit of a let down, in as much as mugs supplied were all dirty and when we selected plates for the buffet, the first 6 were also dirty. The staff on that day were behaving like school kids and clearly waiting to go home! I did mention the cleanliness as I left. Breakfast day 2 was like we'd walked into a different restaurant. Much more professional and clean cups! Our final advice we gave them on food (we both work in catering) was that they didn’t have any clear allergy information displayed for breakfast. As it is a buffet there are no menus and we were not asked about allergies. During our stay, I managed to lose my room key. I was anticipating an ordeal over it, but quite the opposite. We were assisted by a very friendly gentleman on reception. Also on checkout we were greeted in a very warm welcoming manor. Would have been nice to have had that on arrival! All in all. A good stay. Nothing in life is perfect and despite those few issues, we would happily stay there again. "

"Golf links was well equipped and very toasty,it was generally very clean but the oven racks and trays needed cleaning which did let it down,the other slightly annoying thing was one of the double beds was made up as a twin ….whereas on the description it says it’s a double unless asked to be made up as a twin as we were only there three nights we didn’t bother to ask someone to change it.two minor issues which wouldn’t stop us from booking again."
