“Just a lovely place to stay, set in characterful buildings in a historic part of town. Walkable to Stamford high street shopping, bars and restaurants, but I'd be happy to stay in the hotel for dinner and drinks too. Rooms are comfortable and well sized. If we're back in town, we'd be looking to stay again.”

“Lovely clean room with everything we needed from a kettle and mugs to bathroom essentials. It was really quiet and the bed was very comfy. There's restaurants very close by as well.”

Great food in the Hancock Kitchen (less formal of the 2 restaurants) - didn’t eat at the more formal one. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for many many years. Encourage anyone to visit.”

“I had a little trouble finding the car park but the receptionist was brilliant in helping me out and giving me a pre-printed map and an accurate post code for my SatNav. Check-in was seamless. Food was excellent. Wonderful ambience in the bar. Comfy room.”

“Extremely friendly receptionist and it’s so nice to be accompanied to your room rather than be left alone . The hotel rooms are quite quirky with antique furnishings and our room had an oriental/ Asian flavour…perhaps some artwork over the bed would have made the room more appealing.The bed and shower were great and extremely hot water so that is a bonus. We walked to visit Burghley house which is located behind the inn and is a must see. The town of Stamford is a hidden gem …I felt we were on a...
