“Very disappointed. We had to hunt for someone to check us in on arrival. The restaurant was only open one evening of our stay. The food was disappointing and we waited for an hour one evening for bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, olives and a cheese board. We were there from Saturday till Friday morning. The room was clean but the beds were small and bedding only just covered the top of the bed. At the pool I was told to get my towel from my room otherwise I would have to pay....

“We really enjoyed our stay.”

“The Superior Double Garden View room was not as good as expected. The shower and toilet roof had paint peeling from it and the sink had a lot of fine cracks. The patio area table could have done with a new top as we had to put a plastic bag on it when having our snacks and a glass of wine and the paving slabs good have done with a clean. Fortunately the weather was good and enjoyed visiting the Cathedral, Castle, Museum and the good Restaurants in that area.”

“First impressions of the hotel were excellent and overall it is a lovely place with generally attentive staff. All was going well and the receptionist said that we were lucky as our room was air conditioned, while others were not. We had been allocated room 6 and on opening the door there was an interesting staircase which split in two at a small landing with one set of stairs going to the bedroom, with the other leading to the shower room. “Good, secure parking behind the hotel. Located in a lovely old part of the city and near all shops and attractions. Breakfast excellent, with a great selection of options.”

“-It came across as a place that was as hands off as possible and didn't really care. -there was a smell of old smoke as I entered -4pm is too late to start check in and it messed up my day, especially given the far out location -ground floor on the road next to the common room isn't a comfortable place to sleep, again showing care for income, not service -door codes were fiddly - I could hear others struggling from my room, and could feel stressful -no hairdryer, broken drawers, shower...

“Location was a plus since you don’t have to deal with congested traffic in the city. Free parking an obvious plus. Food was decent. Staff and service very good. The only real negative was one of hygiene. It was noticeable that when customers used the toilet facilities and failed to wash their hands, they would return to the restaurant and handle the utensils stacked in the containers on the table. In future, I would take wipes and clean before using.”

“Standard of accomadation clean and tidy, and a very fair price, all in all ideal for our one night stop over, proprietor servers a great pint of beer.”
