“The room, was filthy dirty, bed sheets smelt of mould wet dog. Cups dirty with coffee stains. Toilet filthy. Shower filthy, floor so dirty made your feet black. Walls all damaged. Smelt really bad in the room. Balcony outside extremely dangerous and broken. Floor uneven. No lights in the dark. Extremely noisy. Beds uncomfortable. Stains on sheets. Dust and dirt every where. The towels didn’t smell clean. Extremely unhappy. I didn’t take hardly any photos to proved as I’m sure the staff know.”

“The view is amazing. A lovely quite hotel with great food and attentive staff.”

“All good”

“Everything the hotel lacked wss completely made up by the excellent service offered by Margueite. Thank you for your efforts and understanding.”

“The Tiverton Hotel is located a short way in to the town off the A361, the North Devon Link Road and around a 10 minutes walk into the town centre so a good location. Plenty of parking. The room was a good size, clean, tidy and comfortable. I do feel the chair seat base cushions could do with a shampoo or was that just the wear on the material? The bathroom was clean and well stocked. Check in and out was quick and friendly. I would stay here again.”

“Excellent quality product, Parking, Sea View, Very clean and everything your need for a stay away..”

“Enjoyable stay at what is perhaps best described as a fantastic restaurant with rooms. The restaurant overlooks the water and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However our room was landside, with only a view of Irsha Street. Although small, the room and facilities were excellent. Fresh milk in the fridge is always much appreciated by us tea drinkers.”

“한국분이시라면 시골 허름한 모텔 생각하시면 됩니다”

“So disappointed - avoid this establishment until something changes! We arrived just before 8pm and went straight to check in and have dinner in the restaurant, we were informed that the kitchen was busy and there would be a wait, which was fine, however 90mins later we still had no food and when it did come out it was lukewarm and three out of seven meals were missing something. Further to this the children’s carrot and cucumber starter looked like it had been prepared days before - We...

“We ensured we arrived before 17.00 hours as the hotel has no-one on reception from 17.00hrs onwards. We felt this was a little restrictive although the Ancient Mariner staff were available to a later time in the evening. We found it convenient to have restaurant and bar food available at the Ancient Mariner and can thoroughly recommend it too. Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00, a decent interval of time. The staff were pleasant and friendly but service for the hot food was a little slow...

“Perfect place for rest”

“Reading the other reviews it feels like maybe we got unlucky with our room allocation but beware that the room categories and photographs on Expedia do not match the ones at the hotel; and the ones on the hotel website also do not match the rooms you will be given as they show photos mixed from all categories in each one. We booked a superior thinking it would be the nicest and expecting the amenities listed like a king bed, rainfall shower, workspace etc, it had none of these and was a quite...

“The hotel was excellent. It felt very upmarket but without an upmarket price. Room was small but absolutely fine for one person. Wonderful bathroom! Food was excellent. Will be going back next year.”
