Shortly before my actual stay i read some reviews on this hotel and was kind of nervous about the possibility of having a not great experience. My mind was changed quickly. The rooms are small but clean, every single staff member from the check in desk to each and every maintenance/housekeeping we walked by greeted us and wished us a nice day. We didn't have breakfast but there were alot of people that seemed to be enjoying it in the really nice lobby area. We didn't use the pool or fitness room but they both looked clean and well maintained. Great location for an overnight stay for a concert not far down the road from the hotel, easy to get to and from. I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here many times before, staff is typically great and really helpful. This past time as I checked in, the staff is on FaceTime having an active conversation while I am checking in, handling personal information, the air in my room didn’t work in our room and Essence had a disgusting attitude while also on the phone in her AirPods, if you don’t want to deal with people don’t work at a hotel. The least you can do is hang up your phone conversation while trying to help.

Front desk staff was awesome! We went to our room and it smelled like paint so bad and it gave me a headache. It wasn’t a horrid smell but it was enough to bother me and know I couldn’t stay hours in the room and didn’t want a migraine. Staff moved us to another room. Very pleased with that. My 4 year old was super bummed when we went to the pool to find out it was closed. The hours noted on the door did not accurately reflect pool hours. When I asked the front desk why my key wouldn’t work at the pool I was simply told it opened at 3. Super disappointed in that as we had late check out until 12 and it was 11:00 when we tried to swim.

Stay there annually for the NCAA tournament (hang at Gator Jakes - walking distance away and walk to the hotel that night). Staff always great. Breakfast is ok (from a hotel breakfast standpoint). Not gonna win any awards, but it’s enough. Rooms are clean and very nice.

The tile floors cause every sound to be amplified, so when you have people screaming and knocking on each other’s doors all night, it’s hard to sleep. We spent the first night just trying to keep our dogs from barking all night. Note that rooms are cleaned every other day. Multiple food options within walking distance. Nice yard in back for walking dogs. Pool area not kept as clean as the rest of the hotel. Great breakfast and nicely set up lobby for having breakfast no matter how many or few people. Staff seemed uninterested in helping guests. NO outdoor outlets for plug-in vehicles.

This is a clean hotel, courteous staff, couldn’t ask for better. And if you enjoy an extra firm mattress, this is the place for you (not me)! At my age I need a mattress with a bit more give (completely personal preference). No reason you shouldn’t stay.

The breakfast was fabulous although we thought it should be open until 10 on weekends instead of 9. There was a big disturbance on the 4th floor where we were at 6:30 am and the police had to be called to kick out the people. The hallway reeked of weed when we left that morning. Super convenient location with grocery and food places nearby.

Hotel has been recently remodeled. I like that there is no carpet in the room. The room darkening blind works very well. It is quiet. The shower is fantastic. The room is small with a small refrigerator & no closet but there is a small area to hang your clothes. I would say ideal for a quick overnight stay but not for an extended period of time. The only problem we encountered was the bathroom sink was very slow to drain. We didn’t discover it until late at night so we’re not able to report it until we left in the morning. We will definitely say again if we are visiting the Sterling Heights area.
