"We got a free upgrade to an apartment, the bed wasn't as comfortable as our previous stay. The entrance way smelled of wet dog and dog urine. The room was nice and had little complimentary items which was nice. Last time we stayed we had an amazing breakfast. This time it was disappointing, the eggs were watery and undercooked, the orange juice tasted funky, possibly due to being watered down by ice cubes. We were really looking forward to that breakfast as it was amazing last time. The lady serving breakfast in morning seemed a little down compared to the previous time we stayed also. We will probably stay again as the location is okay for us and we like the place. Just a bad experience on this occasion."

"I stayed here for only one night but wished I'd stayed longer, I was a very nice experience indeed, from the moment I checked in I was treated exceptionally well by Ariane who made the arrival experience easy. The room was clean & quiet with the ensuite bathroom fully stocked & efficient. The breakfast (optional for a fee) was gourmet quality actually cooked by the co proprietor Jamie who I learned was a top chef so not surprised, there were various options too so plenty to choose from. The parking & outer spaces too were lovely & can't be praised higher. The overall experience of Yalbury Cottage is 5 stars & if anyone has trepidation of booking a room here relax as you won't regret it. Thank you Ariane & Jamie for looking after me so well and be assured I will be back when I get the chance although next time my stay will be much longer. Thanks Again John Prout."

"On arrival, mid afternoon on a Saturday, bar tables were not cleared or wiped plus the floor could of done with a good sweep, on booking in we found the room to be of a good standard, we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent, but again on getting refill drinks we had to ask for the used glasses to be removed. Coming down to breakfast Sunday morning, everything was great, the young man on duty making sure tables was cleared and wiped, breakfast items replenished and fresh coffee maintained, Well done him, Sundays roast was good but Monday morning things could of been a lot better, I asked if there was any tea spoons, and one was produced from behind the bar, sadly breakfast items were not replenished , and the area was not kept clean or tidy!!! Well done to the guy who did breakfast Sunday morning, 30/8"

"Our room was lovely, suitably large with 2 good wardrobes and a light over the dressing table mirror. The mattress was very comfortable and table water was always available. Breakfast was served in the conservatory with a lovely view of the enclosed garden. We ventured away from the Full English to try the omelettes which were delicious! The owner, Noorani Willamson is charming, chatty and very knowledgable about the surrounding area."

"Compact rooms, located in yard behind the pub, a little noisy around closing time, all quiet after that, not a problem unless you are planning an early night. Shower clean, good flow and hot, biscuits with the tea and coffee, twin beds comfortable but we booked a double room, suggest ringing before arrival to confirm selection. Reasonably priced, would recommend if staying one or two nights."
