“The Beach Hotel is a social enterprise run by the YMCA as an apprenticeship scheme. In light of this we had quite modest expectations for our stay. But these were misplaced - the hotel is spotlessly clean, and run by professional, welcoming staff. The occasion was a large family reunion, and the restaurant served us all with a good simple dinner in an efficient and timely way. Service was excellent. “We had an amazing time staying at Allercott Farm. The cottage was beautiful, cosy and very peaceful at night, and you’re right in the middle of Exmoor so you can drive for around 20 minutes any way at all and find yourself at one of the many walks. Hosts were awfully lovely, as were their several friendly dogs who were keen to say hello. We’d absolutely consider staying again sometime to visit more of the national park. 😊”

“Lovely place, rural which I liked. They had chalets behind the property down a small hill. It was so cosy. Meals in the pub had plenty of variety as well as breakfast. They also had some star gazing rooms (where roof opens up). Enjoyed my stay and would book again.”

“The main thing to be said about our stay at the poltimore is that the staff really couldnt do enough for you. So attentive and lovely. The room was clean, spacious and had a stunning view of the countryside. The water sometimes ran brown, but this is probably the only negative comment to be said. Food has always been very nice here. We happily stay here again. ”
