광활한 실내 공간, 따뜻한 화장실
호텔 이름이 크게 써 있지 않아 리셉션을 찾기가 조금 힘들었고, 리셉션에서 체크인을 한 뒤 옆옆 입구로 들어가야 하는데, 마찬가지로 간판이 잘 눈에 띄지 않아 불편했습니다. 대신 방에 들어간 뒤로는 너무나 황홀했습니다. 뛰어다녀도 될 만큼 넓고, 창문이 크고, 화장실이 따뜻하며 모든 시설이 훌륭합니다. 여행에서 묵었던 숙소 중 가장 넓은 곳이었습니다. 참, 체크인 전 짐 보관도 가능합니다.

욕실 청소 상태 빼곤 그럭저럭 괜찮은 호텔
웨벌리역에서 가깝고 프런트 직원 친절하고 좋은데 욕실청소는 신경 좀 써야겠더군요. 사흘 내내 방바닥 청소 한번도 안한거야 봐줄수 있는데, 욕실은 정말 쓰레기통 비닐만 갈았더군요. 전날 쓴 수건도 안치우고 어매니티도 다 쓴거 보충 안해놓고 심지어 마지낙날은 새 수건도 안갖다 놔서 프런트 직원한테 받았어요. 요즘 게스트하우스도 이렇게 안하던데 호텔이란데가 이러니 참...프런트직원들은 참 친절했어요...조식 연어도 맛있었었고요...

Nice and clean room and good location. A lot of noise that you can hear all the movement from the room above, when they walk, take a shower etc... Overall not good for a long stay

Perfect position for bus station and tram stops literally down the road. No lifts so lots of stairs. Bed,room and bathroom clean. Clean towels and supplies of mini soaps,shower gels and shampoos etc. Continental breakfast good.

I have nothing good to say other than good location The room has not been cleaned, beds were made but smelt like they had been slept in. Bathroom was not cleaned, the shower had clearly just been used with splash marks on the inside and bathroom bin was full from the people the previous night

Family Christmas hols
Perfect location on York Place for tram to and from airport. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and continental breakfast was great start to our day.

Nice Hotel, Great Location
I was slightly concerned about staying at the Ballantrae Hotel, from reading some of the reviews. However, I didn’t need to worry as it really was ok. The location was great, just a short walk to the shops and Christmas Market, and the tram stopped just down the road. All the receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The room was a decent size, nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. The continental breakfast was as expected, and set us up for a day of walking. So all in all, I was very happy with the Ballantrae Hotel.

great location, nice people.
minor problems dealt with really quickly, - we were immediately offered another room in case the stairs would be a problem- (booked into the top room, which in Edinburgh can mean needing a sherpa) nice people, spacious rooms, recently fitted bathrooms.....great central location. didn't take breakfast option so can't comment.. hipster coffee across the road too tempting..

It was very dirty. My heating did not work, so asked staff for help. They did not want to know. Ended up sleeping in cloths. Shower was filthy so did not want to use. I was told this was one of the best rooms if so one dread to think what the other rooms would be like

Huone oli kylmä, kylpyhuoneessa lämmitys, joten aina vessan ovi pidettävä auki, jotta sieltä sai lämpöä muualle. Likainen kokolattiamatto. Kylpyhuoneessa hometta, ikkunat märät. Hotellin aamiainen hintaansa nähden huono (maksettiin erikseen), kannattaa ennemmin syödä muualla aamiainen. Muutoin sitä, mitä sillä rahalla oletti saavansa. Huippu sijainti, auki 24h, sai tulla ja mennä oman aikataulun mukaan.

Disapointing
Nice happy welcome from the check in desk but that was the end of the pleasantries. Although it does say that there is not a lift I didn't expect a climb of 71 steps to our room. Our room was in the attic and I had to bend over a lot due to the ceiling, especially when opening and closing thr window/curtains. I looked under the bed and found an old perfume bottle and an old McDonalds chip box. There was a pair of socks left in one of the drawers from a previous guest so quite clearly no one was cleaning properly. My partner found an old bra in the bathroom and the toilet was continuessly flowing making difficult to flush as the cistern couldn't fill up properly. The shower head was loose and kept sliding down the wall rail. The room was tidied up between days but only a quick once over. Nice people working there but not a nice place to stay. Good location but it doesn't make up from the condition of the hotel. We won't be going back again!

The first thing you'll notice is there is NO LIFT. Really. And no one offered to help with the luggage. Second thing I didn't like was the after person needs to buy an iron. ミリタリータトゥー のシーズンで街中のホテルが高騰する中、奇跡的に予算内で宿泊する事が出来ました。 ただ設備的には日本と同じくは期待できず、エレベーターは有りません。4階まで毎回上り下りはきつかったです。 部屋にはポットは有りますがドライヤーは無いのでフロントにて借りる必要があります。 またシャワーの水圧が低いので、8月でも冷えるエジンバラの夜はしんどかったです。 ただ立地が便利なのとスタッフも感じはいいので、ここにして良かったと思います。

They put a bed in the service room (!)
Probably bad luck, but my room was (somehow) also the room where data servers and other electric/electronic equipment was located... They literally put a bed in the service room! (glad I'm not a tin-hat kind of person). The door to said closet wouldn't close (fortunately they fixed it later) so a big sheet of rockwool hanged from the door into the room. Bathroom was private and spotless but separate - down the hall. Room was in basement, which is ok, but outside my window there was rubbish and old junk so not too tempting to lift the curtain, although sleeping with open window is still a must! Breakfast was just ok. Service was friendly. I'm glad I had ear plugs so I wouldn't have to listen to the noise from the cooling fans in the closet... I could still see the blinking lights.

hotel ricavato da vecchia casa come tutti gli hotel del centro di Edimburgo. Comodo perché a 5 minuti a piedi dalla via principale e dotato di un piccolo parcheggio recintato. Purtroppo il wi-fi è utilizzabile solo nell'ingresso e nella sala della colazione, noi che eravamo 2 piani sotto la strada non riuscivamo ad usarlo.

Noisy, fungus all over the shower cubicle, furniture dated and falling apart. Got a king size and not a double. Costly at £220 per night, breakfast extra at £7.50 (cold buffet type). If we had booked in for more than the two nights, we would have requested a move if it were possible. Couldn’t have gone anywhere else because all August the Fringe is on. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. No photos but it isn’t anything like the photos on the website.

Yes! Stay here! Great location on York Place. A couple blocks off popular Prince Street, but unless you’re a sound sleeper, you don’t want to stay on Prince Street. Quaint neighborhood bars and restaurants nearby. Close to Waverly train station but uphill part way so we took an Uber. Staff super accommodating and carried our bags up to room and stored for the day. Room was nicely appointed, crisp sheets, clean. I’d highly recommend staying there. PS: A wee bit tricky to find; on-building sign is not highly visible.

We were given a room in the fourth floor without elevator. We are seniors and had to take the luggage up by ourselves. It was extremely difficult and even dangerous. Orbits need to doo something to alert senior people of this issues before we book, or allow to book those rooms that are only one floor up or down. It took a lot of the enjoyment of the visit to Edinburgh.

Charmigt hotell i gammalt hus med atmosfär. Perfekt läge med hållplats för både buss och "tåget" från flygplatsen precis utanför. Två kvarter från Princess-street och nära till allt. OBS! Ingen hiss på hotellet så man får vara beredd att bära väskorna. Vi bodde en familj i stort dubbelrum som var trevligt. Helt ok frukost i trevlig frukostmatsal.
